NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Swatches & Depotting

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil: A blend of both worlds, an eye shadow and eyeliner in one! The famous NYX Jumbo eye pencil is a cream eye shadow in a pencil. It glides on like silk, is easy to blend, lasts all day and can be used underneath NYX eye shadow for more colour impact. What more could you ask for? - $4.50 ea. Net wt.5g/0.15oz
Ingredients: Ceresin Wax, Candelilla Wax, Bees Wax, Squalane, Hydrogenated Styrene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Mineral Oils, Polyisobutene, Butylated Hydroxy Anisole, Propyl Paraben, Mica, Talc, C.I.77499, Pearl Powder.

I bought eight of these jumbo eye pencils some time ago and love them.  As the description states, these are a cream eyeshadow and eyeliner in one, however, I personally use these as an eyeshadow base and they definitely help make my eyeshadow colors pop and last longer.
A complaint that I have heard about these pencils is that people find them hard to sharpen.  Since these pencils are thick, an ordinary pencil sharpener will not work.  NYX sells a large sharpener for $4.00 but I had no problem using one that I had purchased at Victoria Secrets a while ago. What a lot of people end up doing with these is depotting them which is what I ended up doing.
While I didn't have the problem mentioned above, I didn't want to loose a bit of product every time I had to sharpen them.  I purchased empty 5gram jars and melted the pencils right into them.  This makes them so convenient! When I want to use them as a base, I just use a small foundation brush to apply it to my eyelids and when I want to use them as an eyeliner, I use an eyeliner brush.  Depotting them was very easy but as you melt them, the hot plastic tube seems to give off an odor so I do suggest that you do this project in a well ventilated area.
